Our Story

bigblackbooks is a new platform here to pay Black readers, writers, and publishers their literary dues. Our mission is to celebrate all things Afro-literary. Launched in February 2021, bigblackbooks is a multiform project that is always searching for new ways to build up the Afro-literary world.

Our Blog

Our blog is dedicated to digitally publishing reviews, interviews, op-eds, lists, and other features on a different genre category every month. From romance and memoir to historical fiction and coming-of-age, we love it all. This June is all about mystery.

We open to requests for reviews, interviews, or any means way of supporting the Afro-literary world. Drop us a line at bigblackbooks@hotmail.com.

Our Publication

Our digital and print publication is dedicated to spotlighting emerging Black writers on a bi-annual basis. Each issue will be themed. Submissions for Issue 1 will open on September 1st.

If you are an emerging Black fiction, non-fiction, or other writer with few to no publications, we are keen to publish your work.
